Prior to that he was an Instructional Technology Specialist, teacher and coach in central Pennsylvania. Kurt’s interests include open source software, audio-visual integration, and digital video. Away from the keyboard Kurt enjoys American football at all levels, coaching youth athletics, and family activities with his wife and 3 children ages 4, 6, and 8. He is an avid St. Louis Ram’s fan.

His Internet column featured has won him both National Gold and National Bronze awards from the Parenting Publications of America. He has presented at the PETE&C conference in Hershey, PA and at the NECC conferences.
“The Electric Slide! Twenty-First Century Style”
Kurt and Jim will focus on two web 2.0 tools that we feel have the potential for immediate impact in the classroom. Kurt will show sPresent and Jim will show Splashcast. The main part will be to show how the site works, but at the end of the presentation Jim will talk about how they might look in the classroom by talking about using them for student assessments and for engaging students in the conversations about the content.
