Welcome to episode 2 of the K-12 Online Conference News podcast channel! In 2008 we are recording short, approximately ten minute discussions following our meetings as conveners to address issues, changes, and other questions which come up regarding the K-12 Online Conference. In this episode, we discuss the 2008 conference theme and some of our primary criteria we are utilizing in selecting keynote speakers for the conference. Please share your feedback and questions as comments to this post!
RE: Your twitter request for keynote names:
Sir Ken Robinson
I second that. Sir Ken Robinson would be ideal! He has a way of opening the mind without beating you over the head.
I enjoy David Warlick as a constant part of this project — so having him again for the PreConference (in my opinion) would not only be okay, but my #1 preference to start off K12.
I would like to see a woman keynote — but not just because of the gender, but because of the content she brings. Or perhaps consider a student voice? LOL, a female student would be superb!!
I would also like to see perhaps a panel keynote — or a combination keynote of more than 1 voice. It would take a bit of interesting collaboration to make this happen, but we would all learn from their experience.
Thanks for all you do. I know there is MUCH MUCH more than we ever know about.
