I enjoyed Beyond the Stacks: Using Emerging Technologies to Strengthen Teacher-Librarian Leadership video.(The blooper reel was a nice touch!) “The Learning environment is changing requiring retooling of the profession for the 21st Century.” The Meet the Stars Online Workshop that Donna and Carlene developed was well thought out, designed, and implemented. The wiki allowed for participation, learning, and collaboration. The Meet the Stars: Books and Web 2.0 course was an Authentic Learning Environment – Contextual, Connected, Collaborative, Change-directed, Conversational, and Continuous. As one of the participants of this course I cannot express enough how this course has changed my ideas about my role as a Teacher Librarian, and my role as an educator. This experience was indeed life-changing. Hats off to the Disruptive Innovators!!!

  2. Thank you Tanya!

We hope you will consider participating in our next Disruptive Innovator learning opportunity for teacher-librarians.

    Carla and Donna
Delighted to sit in on your timely session as I continue to follow the great work you do in Saskatchewan to lead teacher librarians and schools into the evolving learning spaces ahead of us. It will take vision leadership and school teams committed to teaching for learning if we are to pull ourselves out of 20th and in some cases 19th century habits. Thank you for spurring teacher librarians everywhere to take up the challenge of leading the change. We are already a decade late so this is a matter of great urgency; thank goodness learners are going ahead with or without us, but the journey could be so enriched if schools embraced 21st century realities and led the way.
Wishing you and this conference continued success. Carol

  4. Hello Carol,

    How are you?
Retooling is imperative to the survival of teacher-librarianship.
The survey report Partnership for 21st Century Skills states has solidified the need for information literacy and technology integration as meaningful components of curricula and instructional practices.

Say hello to Sandi for me!
SSLA is so grateful for your visit to Saskatchewan! We learned so much about inquiry!
