Presentation Title: The Classroom Social Network: It’s not just Fun, It’s Fundamental to Modern Learning

Presentation Description: Social Networking has been around for the past 7 years give or take, but until recently hasn’t had a large presence in the classroom. I would like to show you the benefit of using various types of social networking in your own classroom to increase your student’s engagement in the classroom and give you tools to authentically assess their understanding via discussion boards and posting of videos/photos.

    Adrienne,

Terrific information presented in a relaxed yet enthusiaistic manner! I am currently working in a K-6 and also working on masters to be a school library media specialist. I love the idea of posting pistures of students. Did you get photo releases and does classroom related social networking site fall within domain of educational publications? (yes I think it should but I was wondering if it actually does in reaf life.) Also, before watching your presentation, I didn’t “get” classroom social networking, I do now! Thanks again, Nicole
