Here it is, a new year and we’re already gearing up for the 2012 K12 Online Conference. We’d like to offer you the chance to come aboard this exciting and dynamic group of learner-leaders. Below are the general descriptions of our committees this year. Some will take more involvement at different times of the year, so check the list and check your personal schedules to see which one(s) would fit you the best. Also, you might be interested in volunteering for a portion of the tasks that are assigned to a committee. That’s ok! Go ahead and put your name in the hat and we’ll be very happy to have your contributions to that portion as well.

Public Relations Committee Will be responsible for publicity about the conference; distribute the flyers for volunteers to share at schools; write press releases, advertising blog posts; mailing list messages; send emails to various professional organizations and listservs, etc.; create a teaser / marketing video for the conference. Design Committee Will be responsible for design the logo and flyer for the conference; design the graphics for the conference blog; design site badges for the conference (volunteers, organizers, etc.). Add your name here if you’re interested in this committee.

Professional Development Committee Will be responsible for arranging continuing education credit and graduate credit using K-12 Online presentations; enhance the reflection rubric and PD certificate process; highlight schools and organizations using K12Online for PD via blog posts; facilitate sharing of information about LAN parties and other innovative uses of K12Online content. Conference Preservation Committee Will be responsible for cross-posting past conference content to our Blip.tv channel; updating all past presentation meta data in our Google Spreadsheet; update past presentation blog posts with Blip links; create public RSS feeds for past conference years presentations. Add your name here if you’re interested in this committee.

Live Events Committee Will be responsible for brainstorming and suggesting changes to live events for the 2012; Organize and facilitate 2012 conference live events. Add your name here if you’re interested in this committee.
