Presentation Title: Using computer games as a context for learning and social interaction

Presentation Description: After a brief introduction Ollie Bray describes the use of commercially available computer games in the classroom. In particular he focuses on why the use of games are appropriate for learning and teaching.

He then goes on to describe an innovative project that was piloted in is own schools learning community that uses the game Guitar Hero as a contextual hub for learning and to help children make the transition between primary school to secondary school (elementary school to high school).

The project has now been adopted in various forms in schools all across Scotland and further afield.
