Develop strategies for managing a classroom where students can have a leadership role and the teacher becomes the classroom coach. Mr Mim’s Instructional Design Tips are really helpful if you as a teacher want to become a facilitator of learning rather than the “source of knowledge”. Discovering something for yourself does give you a lot of gratification, and the lessons learnt are not easily forgotten. That’s why I like the the IB’s primary years program so much, it lets you inquire and returns the joy,the awe of new things into the classrooms
I like this way of teaching for a change. I believe this method has a great opportunity to really get the students imaginations flowing as well as taking more pride and possession of what it is they are learning either individually or in a group. I believe the more interaction a student has in the process of learning the more the information will stick and in turn be used more often by the students
