In this keynote, Shannon McClintock Miller tells the story of being inspired by a moment when she truly stepped back to watch and listen to what her students wanted and needed. She shares several thoughts and ideas from the voices of young people all over the world and tie it into what is happening within her school in Van Meter, Iowa. By embracing the voices of our young people, we all can transform education and make a difference in the world. Shannon’s friend and student Meridan Boyd, Van Meter 4th grader, adds her voice and perspectives in this keynote presentation.

We are so excited about Carol Broos’ upcoming K-12 Online session. Carol says, “On a daily basis I get requests for people where to find non-copyright music OR common domain pictures. It is becoming more and more important we empower ourselves to compose music, create our own artwork, and then create our own movies.”

It’s less than two weeks until the opening pre-conference keynote for the K12 Online Conference. Here’s a teaser for the Open Learning strand from Jane Park of Creative Commons and the School of Open who will be presenting on “School of Open Courses for Educators.” The Open Learning strand will open on October 21!
