There is lots here to serve as reminders of the mindset that was the reason that most of us became educators. Didn’t we all believe, at some point, that learning is fun, and it can only be more so when it’s purposeful, exploratory, and collaborative? Thanks for exemplifying that approach for your kids and your colleagues! Very inspiring!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the sandbox metaphor from your classroom’s perspective. I agree that we educators need to be allowing our students more “play” time, that is more purposeful “play” time. They need to play with the tools and have time to explore their passions. They need to learn to “play” nicely with each other and how to solve problems that will arise as they play.

You are so right when you tell us to befriend the right people around your school. I have a great relationship with everyone in my school and I know I can call on them for help or guidance. Love your green wall and chair. That is something I am going to “play” with in the new year – green screening.

Enjoyed taking a peek into your classroom. Looks like your students have a great teacher. Thanks for the practical tips and inspiration. Looking forward to dedicating more time to sandbox play in my own classroom.
