The K12 Conference came right on the heels of my first meeting with Will Richardson, followed quickly by a workshop with David Jakes and another with Hall Davidson. At each of these, I was encouraged to build my network and explore an understand the Web 2.0 tools available to me.

Well, I think you have really outdone yourself with purpose! If the purpose in all of this was to engage people in the conversation, then you have succeded. If the purpose was to open new technolgy doors for people you have succeded. For me, my purpose for participating is to also finish the graduate credits for this course, I will succed. My other purpose in joining this online group, I have have hundreds more in my network, we have all experienced success!

Not trying to be repetetive here, but I must agree with the kudos that have been showered on all those who organized and contributed to this amazing learning opportunity. It’s great being able to revisit the presentations, to participate and contribute to wikis and blogs, and keep the conversations going. “Meeting” so many people through the live events was a great treat. I feel as if I’ve only scratched the surface of what this conference has to offer. I’ll be spending much more time continuing to study and grow.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this conference! I’m looking forward to the continuing monthly Skype meetings and next year’s K12 Online Conference.

I can only echo the comment left by John Pearce above – there were a lot of reservations about this style of conference before the event – but as they say in the uk ‘ the proof of the pudding is in the eating’. The proof in this case is that many of us – ordinary educational practitioners have been inspired and encouraged to continue with this new technology through the excellent practical help and feedback form the presentations and presenters ( even though like John I have only just scratched the surface of the many presentations ).
I must also say that the final 24 hour skypecast was an inspired idea and actually succeeded probably because of skype’s inherent ‘flakiness’ – as this allowed chat in Tapped In to take over which was great fun.
I also have to say that from a Professional Development angle it will really show educators how to go from here on in… I greatly look forward to further discussions on this year’s material – and to K12 online 2007!!!

From the participant/presenter point of view can I be the first, (on this post at least), to publicly recognise the inspired brilliance and, (I am sure at times), dogged determination to make this k12 online conference work as hugely successfully as it has. Folks you deserve all the plaudits that come your way, Stephen Downes reservations and all that :). When I finally get around to reviewing all of the presentations I have in a now bulging folder on my laptop I know that I will have learnt more in this one conference than I have in all of the other Professional Development I have undertaken this year. To use the vernacular, AWESOME 🙂
