Presentation Title: The Ben N Ben Show: Promoting Student Voice through a Student Hosted Webcast

Presentation Description: The Ben N Ben Show is exactly what this strand entails: Student Voice. We interview fellow students, teachers from around the country, technology professionals, college students/professors, politicians, etc. and all along, we work hard to promote schools centered around students and what they want in collaboration with the rest of the learning community. Exclusively on K12 Online, listen to this intimate interview with the Bens and get a better sense on why the Ben N Ben Show works, why it’s such a great thing to have in a high school, and how you too can create your own student hosted webcast.  Don’t forget to visit the Ben N Ben website to listen to archived shows (especially the show featuring Angus King, Matt Montagne, and Ron Ho.)

  1. It is amazing these young people wanted to start own program and had the guts to go for it. They emailed the people that they wanted to host even the govenor. By having the guts to try something new and doing their homework by collaborating with others that have already had programs they were able to pull this off. It would be neat if we had the time to do this in class.

    Ben n Ben,
What a terrific job! You seem so at ease presenting this great dynamic opportunity to others. That is what the edtechtalk community is all about – sharing! I am so glad you shared how SIMPLE it is to get started. Yes, you had a teacher in your building, but please, please, please, all of you listening, you can do this. Reach out to the edtechtalk community and ask for help. There are so many of us out here who want to help with the student voice!
Ben and Ben, great job. Thanks for sharing and making me believe that anyone can make this happen.
