Presentation Title
“If All My Classes Did This”

Description
Recognizing that educators want students to engage in and enjoy learning and to have the opportunities for success and that reality often brings hardware and budgetary constraints, this presentation explores free Web 2.0 tools focusing on student learning activities and engagement. • Ideas and examples of how these tools can be applied in the classroom.
  • Tips to introduce tools to students, including privacy and fair use.

  2. Hi
Nice job on the movie and the narration. I’ve used most of the tools but the quick intro to Zoho was helpful.
I think you should use VoiceThread before Christmas :) and if you want to give it a try, my colleague and I are presenting our workshop (Collaborative ABC Movie Project) on Monday with a VoiceThread component to it. So come on and dive in with our project and then create your own.
I suppose you could even create a toon in Toondoo and then move the picture into VoiceThread and use audio to narrate the comic. Hmmmmm.
    Adios

  3. I can’t wait to try these tools. I’m new to teaching and using the Web 2.0 tools but have loved every one – wish there were more hours in the day to show my kids these!!

  6. Wendy-

That was fabulous! Well put together and easy to understand. The narration was excellent. Being a first time participant, you are making me think I could also put something like this together in the future.

  8. Well done presentation! Glad you were able to find some tools to help your students connect! Thank you for assisting me with the discovery of new tools and thoughts for using them in the classroom.

FYI – Though I’m fascinated with scrapblog, I’ve found it to be very unfriendly for the final rendering – can’t wait long enough for it to load. Though I may be impatient, my students are less so.

    Keep sharing!

  9. Hi Wendy, You did a wonderful job on your presentation! Our small group of tech educators got together for a LAN party to share our experience watching and discussing the conference. We decided to use your presentation as our “common” experience and had a fantastic time exploring your tools. We created our very first Voicethread to share our LAN party with you. You can watch it here: http://voicethread.com/share/13844
We had some glitches with our recordings, but it didn’t affect our enthusiasm that was generated by your presentation. We hope you enjoy it!

  10. Peggy –
Your Voicethread is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you, your group, and all of the educators and students you work with enjoy exploring the possibilities! :)

  11. Hi Wendy. I really enjoyed your presentation. I’m currently attending the U of R in Regina, Canada and our ECMP class uses many of the tools you mention on a regular basis. I would have to agree with the title of your presentation, as someone who has grown up with technology and who uses it all the time it definitely makes for a better, more enjoyable learning experience.

  12. Wendy, nice job on your presentation. I like how you showed how your students are using these tools. I just created a GCast account and created my first podcast. Thanks for such great tools!
